  The Aberdeen Clinic (TAC) is committed to the highest standards of corporate governance and is managed in line with the corporate governance safeguards and commercial principles expected of a UK registered company*.

The Board of TAC ensures that the high standards expected by our staff, clients and patients are delivered and that the company is managed in accordance with the principles of corporate governance set out in the UK Corporate Governance Code published by the Financial Reporting Council in June 2010, and updated in September 2012 and September 2014.

The Board comprises of the Chairman, two independent Non-Executive Directors, together with the Clinical Director and our CEO.

Clinical Governance and Risk Management
Clinical excellence is central to all TAC decisions and actions. The clinical governance committee is responsible for ensuring that high standards of care are consistently delivered and that TAC meets its statutory, legal and regulatory obligations in the management of the service.

The clinical governance/ risk management committee collects data regarding clinical outcomes but also feedback information received from the management team and patient focus groups directly to the Board.

To improve clinical outcomes, safety and governance, there is a continuous process of auditing TAC activity and reporting to ensure that there is a constant drive towards improvement.

We believe that the standard of care delivered should be consistent with decisions devolved closer to patients this is ensured by the recruitment of high caliber staff. All Aberdeen Clinic staff are recruited in-line with best practice and statutory requirements, as such all staff are: reference checked, PVG/CRB referenced, Hepatitis B neg and competency assessed.

To ensure that services are delivered in the most efficient way possible TAC work with individual hospitals and trusts to ensure that all local policies and procedures are adhered to – ensuring a seamless integration with existing services.

In line with recent developments in Scotland, for private clinics, TAC is one of the first independent clinics to register with Health Improvement Scotland.

Information Governance
Our information governance committee meets quarterly to ensure strict adherence to best practice relating to all data held by the company as per the principles outlined in the Data Protection Act 1998. Our information governance committee oversees the management of clinical data ensuring that security and confidentiality are ensured. The Caldicott guardian is Ken Park who is responsible and accountable for the boards compliance with the Caldicott principals.
